That growth reflects something visitors can already feel on the ground: Lombok is no longer simply a quieter alternative to Bali. It is becoming a destination in its own right.
Where Can You Fly From Lombok?
The airport connects Lombok with several major Indonesian cities, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali and Yogyakarta. It also serves as an important gateway for the wider West Nusa Tenggara region.
For domestic travelers, Jakarta is currently the busiest route. Between January and June 2026, the Jakarta route recorded 200K departing passengers.
Other domestic connections include Surabaya, Bali, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Balikpapan and several destinations across eastern Indonesia.
This makes Lombok relatively easy to reach even if there isn’t a direct flight from your hometown.
International Flights From Lombok
International connectivity is smaller but increasingly important.
Lombok has direct international connections with Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. These routes resumed in 2022 after international flights were suspended for almost two years during the pandemic.

Lombok International Airport is smaller and generally less hectic than the major airports in Bali or Jakarta.

You won’t find the same overwhelming choice of shops, restaurants and terminals you might expect at a major international hub. Instead, the airport tends to feel more straightforward: arrive, collect your luggage, meet your driver and get on with the trip.

Getting From the Airport to Your Hotel
Where you’re staying will determine how long your journey takes.
Kuta Lombok and Mandalika are among the easiest destinations to reach from the airport, making the airport particularly convenient for travelers visiting southern Lombok.
Heading west towards Mataram and Senggigi takes longer, while journeys to North Lombok, Sembalun or Mount Rinjani can take considerably more time.

Is Lombok International Airport Open 24 Hours?
The airport’s are not opening at full 24 hours. But, it operates start from 06:00 to 21:00 local time (GMT+8).
This means travelers with very late or very early flights should check their airline schedule carefully and plan transportation accordingly.
Why Lombok International Airport Matters
An airport is more than a place to catch a flight.
